Best Practices Guide

The following are best practices for using BuzzyGroups.com

If you're looking for the Rules, please visit the BuzzyGroups rules.

Stream

The Buzzy "Stream" is a collection of all the posts from groups that you have joined and have become an approved member, as well as, any brands that you have chosen to support. The Stream shows posts from other users and your own posts too. This is one way to explore the many posts, videos, and topics discussed in your groups and brands.

The Stream will always show the 50 most recent posts from all the brands and groups you belong to, including your own posts. Depending on how many brands and groups you belong to and the frequency of the users who post in that group, posts by the brands you support, your most recent posts may all be from the same group or brand.

If you are interested in seeing posts from specific groups, you can browse your groups specifically by going to My Groups.

Likewise, if you are interested in seeing the posts from specific brands, you can go to your My Brands.

Records

Every post has a record button and can be recorded. You can record a post by pressing "record" on the post you wish to record. This will add the post to your personal records page. Records are basically a collection of your favorite posts and is designed to keep all your favorite memories together. You can use records to record things that you want to remember, inspires you, or want to keep together.

Recording a post is anonymous in that the poster will not be notified if you have recorded their post. At this time records are not counted either. Meaning that you nor the original poster will know how many times a post has been recorded. We did this to avoid turning the ideas of records into a popularity contest of who can get the most records. This feature is truly designed for you to record the things that are most important to you.

Will records ever be counted? At this point it is hard to say if we will add record counts or not. As previously mentioned, we want to avoid the record count being used as a measure of popularity. This feature is primarily designed for you to record your favorite posts. However, we might consider adding a feature at some point where only the original poster will know how many times their posts have been recorded.

Privacy Mode

Privacy Mode (Beta) is one way to get privacy within a moment's notice. Privacy mode basically blocks out everything on your screen. We are still largely testing this feature out, but the concept is simple. Activating privacy mode can be accomplished in mobile devices by changing the phones orientation from portrait to landscape. To remove privacy mode simply rotate your screen back to portrait. Keep in mind that if your phone has screen orientation lock or you are using the BuzzyGroups app on an Android device this feature will not work. If you are on a desktop or laptop, if you zoom in enough this will also activate privacy mode. Make sure to use the browser's actual zoom feature to activate. For example, using the touchpad on MacBooks won't work, but holding Command (โŒ˜) and pressing the plus key (+) to zoom in, or the minus key (-) to zoom out will work. To remove privacy mode from a desktop or laptop, simply zoom out until the screen reappears.

Note: Privacy mode can also be triggered from a desktop or laptop by changing the size of the browser window to an irregular shape. If this occurs, you can remove privacy mode by returning the browser window to full screen and make sure you are zoomed out.

Post

The Post page is a centralized location where you can share your posts with the various groups you have become an approved member. This is very similar to the post pages within your "My Page" or Group Pages, except you actually will need to select a group from that page for your post to get posted to your group's page. Keep in mind that all posts in and out of groups must always adhere to the acceptable content guidelines.

Users can create posts with or without images, as well as, share video links from YouTube.com or Vimeo.com. It is important to note that video content shared on BuzzyGroups from third-party sites will still be subject to the terms and conditions of those platforms.

Post Image Dimensions

The ideal dimensions for your Posts are 700(w) x 700(h)px. This is a 1:1 ratio. The acceptable image formats include .png, .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif. Images that are larger than the ideal dimensions may be automatically cropped to fit. Images can also be posted that are different in height and width, and BuzzyGroups will automatically set the image to fit inside the post. This allows for more creative expression and gives you the freedom to share unique photos that don't necessarily have to be inside a "box" shape.

Video Posts

At the moment, BuzzyGroups supports videos from YouTube.com or Vimeo.com. When posting, just choose the media type as "video", and enter the YouTube or Vimeo link and that's it! BuzzyGroups will do some magic and convert your link into a playable video in your post.

Do not use the embed codes when posting the video link. This will not work and may cause issues with your video loading properly.

Also we realize that YouTube and Vimeo have different guidelines for what they consider appropriate content than BuzzyGroups, but if you are going to share a video on BuzzyGroups it must always adhere to the acceptable content guidelines.

Photo/Video Credit

The Photo/Video Credit field is designed for you to attribute and give credit for any related media or posts that is not original. Using copywritten content without explicit permission is always forbidden and is not needed if your content is original. However, some content may be considered royalty-free or public domain like a painting of "Saint John the Baptist" by Leonardo Da Vicinci, would be an appropriate picture to credit Leonardo Da Vicinci.

Posts in Brands

Unlike groups, only a Brand is allowed to create a post in their page. This gives brands the opportunity to better control their brand page and messaging.

For Brand Leaders and Moderators: Posts for Brands can only be made within the Brand page. The universal Post page is only designed for Groups.

Post Comments & Replies

The way people can comment and replies on posts is determined on where the comment takes place. Regardless if you are an individual, brand, or group all comments must be approved. However, only comments that are made to be visible can be replied on.

Comments & Replies in Groups

Any group member can comment on a post that is made within a group page. That is, unless the user has turned commenting off on their posts. A comment that is made on a post within a group page will only be visible to the person who made the post, unless that person makes it visible. You and anyone in your group can reply to comments that are made visible by the poster of if comments are auto-approved.

Comments & Replies on Personal Page

Any BuzzyGroups user can comment on a post that is made outside of a Group or Brand page. This is of course, if the user has not opted to turn commenting off on their posts. A comment that is made on a post on a person's individual page will only be visible to the person who posted made the post, unless that person makes it visible. Replies can only be made by anyone when a comment is approved.

Comments & Replies in Brands

Any person who supports a brand can comment on a brand's posts. After a person chooses to support a brand there is a brief "cool down" period, where the person will not be able to comment or reply on any of the Brand's posts or see the Brand's Buzzy Promo. Once the cool down period has passed, then any supporter can comment or reply on a brand's posts. Like in the groups and personal pages, a comment that is made within a brand page will only be visible to the brand who made the post, unless that brand selects your comment to make it visible. Also, people will only be able to reply to comments that are made to be visible.

Groups

Groups are a way for you to connect with other people from all over that share a similar interest, affinity, or relationship. Groups are designed to create a safe space for people to share posts, images, and videos of things that unite them together.

For example, this could be a group of friends that all grew up together or went to the same high school. Perhaps you want to share your special moments together with just your close friends and family from a recent engagement, wedding, or newborn baby. Maybe you just want to share your love of your favorite cars, sports, hobby, or really any other thing that brings us all together. That's really what BuzzyGroups is all about!

How do Groups Work?

First, find a group based on what interests you the most. You can do this from the Find Groups page. From there you can search for groups by name and community type.

Once you find a group that you want to join, request to join the group. From there the Group Leader will be informed of your request and will have the right to accept or reject your membership request. As a best practice, we recommend making sure your profile is up to date and everything is filled in so they know who they are reviewing.

If the Group Leader accepts your request, then you will be able to see all of the Group's posts in your stream and on the Group Page. You will also have the ability to post on the Group page. As a best practice, we recommend making sure the posts you make on a group pages are relevant to the purpose of the Group. For example, if you joined a group about cars it probably wouldn't be the place to post pictures of your vacation, unless it's got a car in it!

Group Membership is not a right, but a privilege. Group Leaders and Group Moderators have the right to remove your posts and revoke your membership from their group if it is deemed your posts or comments are inappropriate for the group.

Have Fun! BuzzyGroups is designed to be a safe place for you to be with others and bond over the common interests that you share with others. If you need more info, check out Group Pages.

Brands

Brands are a way for companies to share about themselves with supporters from all over that love, are interested in, or want to support their efforts. Brands are designed to create a safe space for people to learn about brands, see images, watch videos based on content produced by Brands, find out more about your next sale, and of course learning more about the things your supporters are interested in knowing more about.

For example, a brand page could be a local breakfast and pancake restaurant, a clothing store, a neighborhood coffee shop, yoga studio, or online e-commerce business. As with everything on BuzzyGroups, a brand page is another extension of those things that bring and unite people together. This is what BuzzyGroups is all about!

How do Brands Work?

First, find a brand based on what interests you the most. You can do this from the Find Brands page or Featured Brands page. From there you can search for brands by name and industry type.

Brands are a bit different from group pages, because you don't need to request to support a brand page, like how you would need to request to join a group. This is done so that anyone can support a business! To support a brand, simply navigate to the individual brand page you wish to support and press the support button. And that's it!

Unlike group pages, only the Brand Leaders and Moderators are allowed to post in their Brand. This is done so brands have greater control of their brand page and messaging. However, as a supporter you will have the ability to comment on the brand's posts, after you pass the "cool down" period. The "cool down" period happens shortly after you support a brand, which temporarily restricts the ability to comment on a brand's post, see a brand's posts in your stream, and see any of the brand's promotions.

Supporting a brand is always entirely up to you! You can choose to support or leave a brand at any time. It is important to note though that Brand Leaders and Brand Moderators have the right to remove your posts and revoke your support from their brand if it is deemed your comments are inappropriate for the brand.

Remember to Have Fun! BuzzyGroups is ultimately designed to be a safe place to be with brands and others, while bonding over the common interests that unite us. If you need more info, check out Brand Pages.

What's the Cool Down?

The Cool Down is a brief 2 hour period, after you choose to support a brand, where some content and commenting will be temporarily unavailable on the brand's you choose to support. If you're counting on using a Buzzy promo from a brand page you've heard about, say at your favorite pizza place ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•, remember to support the brand's page at least 2 hours in advance of needing to redeem that Buzzy Promo.

The temporary 2 hour cool down period is also designed for people to have a chance to think twice, before speaking once.

Acceptable Content Guidelines

In order to create a safe space for you to be, we ask that you only post content, including the words, images, or videos you choose to share that cultivates an environment that is inclusive and diverse.

BuzzyGroups requires that all users follow our acceptable post content guidelines, which prohibits content that is:

  • Hateful, discriminatory, or racist
  • Criminal
  • Offensive content
  • Political
  • Profanity
  • News/Media related
  • Promotes any for-profit cause or organization
  • Adult content, including, but not limited to pornographic, sexual in nature, or nudity
  • Exploitation of people, animals, etc.
  • Misinformation
  • Harassment and criticism
  • Private information
  • Self-injury or harmful behavior
  • Violent or extremist
  • Promotion of dangerous organizations or individuals
  • Impersonation
  • Violates intellectual property or other rights
  • Spam or Scams
  • Intellectual Property without consent
  • Election interference

Content that may be deemed inappropriate may be flagged and/or deleted, including but not limited to termination of your account(s). Please help us keep our community a safe place for everyone to be.

Profanity Blocker (beta) is a feature built into BuzzyGroups that attempts to limit the use of profanity on the site. We believe everyone has the right to express themselves, but we also believe that people can express themselves in the same way without the use of profane words that can inflict emotional pain and incite violent disagreement. This is why we prohibit the use of profanity at BuzzyGroups. If you're not sure if it's profanity or not, it's best to probably leave it out. Any attempts made to side-step or circumvent the profanity blockers capabilities can lead up to, but not limited to the termination of your account(s), brand(s) and group(s).

Flagging Posts

Anyone that sees content that does not follow the acceptable content guidelines can flag the post. From the flagged posts page, a user can choose the reason for flagging a post and leave any notes they feel are necessary for the reviewers. All posts that are flagged are done completely anonymously, which means the user that flags the post will remain completely anonymous to Group Leaders, Group Moderators, Brand Leaders, and Brand Moderators. The BuzzyGroups team will review each post in the most timely manner possible if a post is flagged outside of a Group.

We appreciate your help in keeping the BuzzyGroups community a safe place for you and everyone to be.

My Page

The My Page is your own personal profile page, which is an aggregate of all of your posts in other Groups, as well as, posts you may have made on your own personal page. Like group pages, My Page, allows you to display your own creative Buzzy Banner and Profile Image. Also, along the right side you have other information about yourself, such as your username and your "about me" section.

We care about your privacy. By default, your first name, last name, and e-mail are not displayed in your profile, but your first name and last initial will be displayed to any Group Leader or Moderator you request a membership to join. The same is true for and Brand you choose to support as well. This is to help prevent your information from being taken from others without your permission. Of course, it is your right to display your details in the 'about me' field if you wish, but we always recommend that you do so with caution.

The fields that will always display are:

  • Username
  • About me
  • Profile Image
  • Buzzy Banner

Posts on your page that are not made within a group are visible for any BuzzyGroups user to see. This area is designed for you to share posts and information outside of your group. Of course, just like the group pages, your own personal posts must follow the acceptable content guidelines.

Turning comments on/off can be updated from your update profile page by switching commenting on or off. When commenting is turned on anyone from your groups can comment on the posts where they are also a member. Also, any posts made on your personal page can be commented on by any BuzzyGroups user when commenting is turned on. When commenting is turned off nobody from your groups or BuzzyGroups will be able to comment on your posts. It is important to note that turning commenting off does not remove comments that were already on your posts, however, it does prevent any new comments on your posts.

Blocking users can be done by navigating to the user's profile page you wish to block. Near the top of their profile page you will see three vertical dots, like this . Press it and then select "block". If you block a user, they will no longer be able to view your profile page's post or about information. Blocked users won't be able to see your posts in groups either. It is possible that a blocked user can still see your comments or replies if you are members in the same group or brand, however they will not be able to reply to your comments. Additionally, if they have recorded any of your posts, blocking a user will remove your posts from their records.

Unblocking users can be done by navigating to the user's profile page you wish to unblock. Near the top of their profile page you will see three vertical dots, like this . Press it and then select "unblock". Once a user is unblocked, they will be able to view your profile page and information about you. Unblocked users will be able to see your posts in groups again too. Additionally, if they had previously recorded any of your posts before being blocked, they will reappear after being unblocked.

Account Deactivations is just like deleting your account, and can be accomplished by completing the steps in the following deactivation form. When your account is deactivated the only thing that remains is your profile page, image, buzzy banner, and comments on posts will remain, if not on your own posts, but the rest of everything else, including all of your posts will disappear. All of your posts on your personal page, group pages, the stream, and for people who have recorded your posts will also completely disappear. Basically, all of your posts will basically disappear from everywhere. This prevents anyone from seeing your posts or commenting on them while you're taking some time away on your social vacation.

You might prefer to deactivate your account over deleting your account, because when you delete your account all of your information will be gone forever. When your account is deactivated you will be given a choice to reactivate your account. We recommend reading the rules on account deactivation, because if your account is left inactive for an extended period of time we may permanently delete your account.

Permanent Account Deletion can be used if you want to remove all content associated to you forever. To do this, you must choose the Permanent Account Deletion option. Once an account is permanently deleted this cannot be undone. If you are thinking that you might want to be back on BuzzyGroups again someday, we recommend doing an account deactivation instead, which is like deleting your account, only you will later have a choice to reactivate your account at a later point.

Account Reactivations can be accomplished by completing the steps in the following reactivation form. When you reactivate your account all of your information from before will reappear. It will sort of be like you never left!

Update Profile - My Page

To update your Profile, navigate to the Update Profile page.

Update Password

To update your Password, navigate to your profile page and go to the update password page. Note, that for security reasons you may need to log back in with your new password after you reset it.

Profile Picture

The ideal dimensions for your Profile Image is 320(w) x 180(h)px. This is a 16:9 ratio. The acceptable image formats include .png, .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif. Images that are larger than the ideal dimensions may be automatically cropped to fit.

Buzzy Banner

The Buzzy Banner is a fun way to add some character and personalization to your BuzzyGroups page.

The ideal dimensions for a Buzzy Banner are 1080(w) x 360(h)px. The acceptable image formats include .png, .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif. Images that are larger than the ideal dimensions may be automatically cropped to fit. Due to the parallax effect of the banners, images that do not meet the height requirement will be rejected. This is to help ensure that the Buzzy Banner image displays properly on your page.

My Notifications

The My Notifications page shows all your personal notifications, like when someone comments on one of your posts, when your request to join a group is approved, or when a brand you support makes your comment visible on their post(s). If you wish to clear all your notifications, select the "Mark All Read". Note, this action cannot be undone.

User Recognition

There are many ways to recognize others on BuzzyGroups. One way you can recognize someone is through the various methods of user recognition. At the moment there are endorsements, acknowledgments, thanks, and respecting others as a way to recognize someone. Users can only receive one of each these accolades from any other person. Currently, the various user recognitions are counted per category, but the user that recognizes a person is currently anonymous. This may change in the future.

Endorsements can be made from any personโ€™s page. There are many reasons why you might choose to endorse a person. For instance, you might decide to endorse someone for their contributions to a group, or for their help managing a group page. In other words, endorsements are designed to show your approval for someone. You can only endorse a person once, so if you press the endorsement button after you endorse them, this will remove the endorsement.

Acknowledgments can also be given to any person from their personal profiles. Like endorsements, acknowledgments might be given to a person for many different reasons. For example, you might want to acknowledge someone as a way to recognize them for one reason or another. Acknowledgments are a way to express recognition of a person. You can only acknowledge a person once, so if you press the acknowledge button after you have acknowledged them it will remove the acknowledgment.

Thanks can be given to any person from their personal profile page. Thanks can be given to a person for any reason. Thanking someone is a way to express gratitude and shows your appreciation for someone. You can only thank a person once, so if you press the thank button after you have thanked them it will remove the thanks.

Respect may be given to anyone from their profile page. You may choose to respect anyone for any reason. For instance, you may choose to respect someone because you admire them, have a due regard, or wish to show someone that you value you them. You can only respect a person from their profile once, so if you press the respect button after you have respected them, then this will remove the respects.

Group Pages

My Groups

Your My Groups page is a collection of all the groups you belong too. From the My Groups page you can quickly navigate to all of your individual group(s) page to see and learn about what is all the latest with your Group.

Find Groups

Finding groups is fun and easy! Simply navigate to the Find Groups page. From there you can browse groups, search for groups by name, and search for groups by community type.

Group Notifications

Group Notifications list all notifications that pertains to all Group Leaders and Moderators. In this section, notifications for New Member Requests and Flagged Posts in your group(s) will appear.

Managing Group Notifications is all done from the Group Notifications page. If you have any Group Notifications, they will appear in the list. From there you will have the option to view the notifications or mark as read. Marking a notification as read does not necessarily resolve the request, but simply removes it from your notification list.

Create Group

"Free your mind from all the 'shoulds', and all the clutter of how you think others "should" bee... Free your mind from the worry of what others are doing. Think only about what you want for you. Manifest your own world and let others come into it for various reasons. People will come and go, because that's what people do." - Ric Lippincott

Groups can be created by anyone who is a registered user of BuzzyGroups. In the beginning, we will be manually approving each group request that is made, to ensure the safety and quality of groups that are made on BuzzyGroups. So out of respect for others, we kindly ask that you please only petition for one group at a time. This way other people are able to create groups too.

Group Petition can be found in the top navigation under: Group > Create Group. From there, please read the directions carefully, and fill everything in.

Group Name is the name of your group. We recommend thinking about the name of your group carefully, because the name of groups are permanent and they must all be unique. They also must be unique, which means that no names can be the same. Please make sure to use good taste, and follow our acceptable content guidelines for choosing your names. Also, we kindly ask that you refrain from using company name's as your group name, otherwise your group will automatically get rejected.

Community Type is a way for your potential members to find your group and also helps for categorization purposes. Please choose the community type that best fits your groups purposes

Group Searchability is on by default and cannot be changed at a later point. This means this setting is permanent for your group. This is to prevent giving your members the false impression that the content that is posted in a private group doesn't become searchable later on, or vice versa that the content that is searchable will become private later. In other words, this feature helps to protect your members from having a certain impression. Group Search just means whether or not your group will appear in the BuzzyGroups's Find Group page. If the Group is made not searchable than the group will not be able to be found in the Find Group page.

Group Purpose is a place for you to share why you want to create this group. This is where you can share your group's mission, goals, and other things that you think the BuzzyGroups reviewers should consider when deciding if your group should be approved or not. As a best practice, we recommend being as detailed as possible. Keep in mind that this section is only for the reviewers and will not be visible to your potential members.

Group Public Description this is what BuzzyGroups users will see when they are browsing groups or looking at your group page. This is your place to appeal to potential group members and let them know what your group is all about.

Group Calendars are a way to share a Google calendar with your group. Share important dates, events, and other relevant days and times. To share a calendar, you must first create a Google calendar. Once a calendar is created, follow these steps to get the public URL to your calendar.

Group Image is the image that will be used to attract members and quickly share what your group is about. A picture can be worth a thousand words, so we recommend choosing an image that makes sense for your group. For instance, if you are making a group about airplanes than having a picture of an airplane would make the most sense.

Wait-Times for group approvals can vary. It mostly depends on how many active petitions we have at a time. Please do not submit multiple petitions for the same group after a petition has been submitted, otherwise we may not know which one to approve and will have to reject both or all applications. We appreciate your patience.

Group Approvals if your group is approved you will receive a notification in your dashboard. If you were the group petitioner, you will automatically be set as the Group Leader.

Update Group Pages

Group pages can only be updated by Group Admins or Group Moderators. To update a group page go to your group page, from within the "About This Group" section press the icon.

Alternatively, you can edit your group page from within the Group Management section. This can be access by clicking on Groups in the Main Navigation > Groups Admin > Manage (for your group) > then press the icon, then select 'Edit Group'.

It's important to note that not all fields are editable. As previously mentioned, you cannot change the name of your group or change the searchability once the group is created. This is done to protect the privacy of your members.

Commenting in Groups is by default set to private commenting. This is to allow people to comment freely on people's posts and privately. Groups are a bit different than personal pages, in that groups could be mostly comprised of people who you've known previously and trust to not say anything inappropriate. This might not be the case with groups that allow membership with people whom they have never met.

Changing commenting settings will not retroactively impact any previous comments. For example, if a comment was made in private, turning on auto-approved comments will not make all comments visible. Also, if comments were made with auto-approved comments on, then switching to private commenting will not make the previous comments private. Changing this setting will only impact commenting after the setting is changed.

We recommend giving your group a heads up before this setting is changed. This is not required, but it is highly encouraged so that there is always total transparency within your group.

The default private commenting means that only the poster will see the comments on their posts, which may be the intended effect. This gives the poster the right to make the comment visible, keep it private, or delete the comment if they wish.

You can turn on auto-approved comments, which means that all comments will automatically be approved. In a way this has the reverse effect of private commenting in that the poster can choose to make comments hidden or delete a comment if they wish.

Group Picture

The ideal dimensions for a Group Image are 320(w) x 180(h)px. This is a 16:9 ratio. The acceptable image formats include .png, .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif. Images that are larger than the ideal dimensions may be automatically cropped to fit.

Buzzy Banner

The Buzzy Banner is a fun way to add some character and personalization to your group page(s).

The ideal dimensions for a Buzzy Banner are 1080(w) x 360(h)px. The acceptable image formats include .png, .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif. Images that are larger than the ideal dimensions may be automatically cropped to fit. Due to the parallax effect of the banners images that do not meet the height requirement will be rejected. This is to help ensure that the Buzzy Banner image displays properly on your group page.

Groups Admin

The Groups Admin page is designed to centralize all of the Groups where you are a Group Leader or Moderator. If you are not a Group Leader or Moderator this page will be blank.

Manage Groups by simply pressing on the "Manage" button for the group you wish to manage.

Member List are visible only to Group Leaders and Moderators for the group(s) they are a Group Leader or Group Moderator. The Member List shows all the Members of Group by Username, First Name, Last Name Initial, Status, etc.

Pending Members are all the pending request(s) for your group.

  • If you approve a member request, they will have the ability to see all group posts, comment on group posts, and make posts to the group.
  • If you reject a request, they will not be notified, but they will be able to request to join your group again.
  • If you block a member request, they will be not be notified, and will not be able to request to join your group again, unless they remove their request and ask to join again.

Group Leaders at the moment, only members of the BuzzyGroups team can make Group Leaders. The Group Leader is responsible for all conduct within their group and has all group powers, which includes, but is not limited to creating group posts, updating the Buzzy Banner, approving members, rejecting member requests, blocking users, updating the group information, and making, as well as, revoking moderators.

Group Moderators are able to assist the Group Leader in carrying out Group duties such as approving members, rejecting members, and blocking users. Moderators cannot change the status of Group Leaders, and they cannot make or remove other Moderators. Moderators can however remove flagged content within the Group, as well as, make changes to the Group description.

Remove Members is a way to remove a user from a group immediately. Upon removal, a user will no longer be a member and their privileges to view and comment on group posts will be revoked. Members that are removed can request to join again if they wish.

Blocked Users appear in the blocked users list after being blocked by a Group Leader or Moderator. If a Group Leader or Moderator blocks a request than the user will not be notified and will basically be in limbo with their request. They will not be able to request to join the group unless, they leave their join request and attempt to join again. Otherwise they will be blocked indefinitely. If a user was already a member and is blocked, their membership status in your group will automatically be revoked and they will lose privileges to view group posts, make comments on posts, and will be moved to the blocked list.

Unblocking Users can be managed from your groups block list. Unblocking a user does not automatically make them a member or change their membership status. However, once a user is unblocked, they are free to request to join your group again.

Flagged Group Posts

Posts can be flagged for a number of reasons, which includes, but is not limited to reasons that a user believes the post contains details that are criminal, discriminatory, offensive, contains pornographic material, nudity, violence, extremist behavior, or something other. Any posts that are flagged within a group where a person is a Group Leader or Moderator will always be informed via the Group Notifications page. The details of the flagged post will be listed in a separate flagged posts page. From the flagged post page, Group Leaders and Moderators will have the option to review the flag and take whatever action they deem appropriate, which includes removal of the post or removal of the flag. We encourage Group Leaders and Moderators to seriously consider posts that are flagged and determine whether or not they believe the post violates the guidelines for BuzzyGroups's acceptable content guidelines, and not what they personally feel is okay or not.

The BuzzyGroups team strives to create a space for the Group Leader(s) and Moderator(s) to take appropriate actions to resolve posts that are flagged by either removing the post or by removing the flag from the post. Keep in mind that the BuzzyGroups team is also informed of all posts that are flagged and reserves the right to also remove posts, flags, or make modifications as deemed necessary by the team. This also includes posts where the flag has been removed by a Group Leader or Moderator. This is done to ensure the safety of our online community and keep BuzzyGroups a safe place for you to be.

We appreciate your help in keeping the BuzzyGroups community a safe place for everyone to be!

Your My Brands page is a collection of all the brands you have chosen to support. From the My Brands page you can quickly navigate to all of your individual brand(s) pages to see and learn about that Brand.

Find Brands

Finding new Brands can be a fun and an exciting process! Simply navigate to the Find Brands page or Brands. From there you can browse brands, search for your favorite brands by name, and search for brands by industry type.

Brand Notifications

Brand Notifications list all notifications that pertains to all Brand Leaders and Moderators. In this section, notifications for Brand Applications will appear or other notices from the Brands that you support.

Managing Brand Notifications is all done from the Brand Notifications page. If you have any Brand Notifications, they will appear in the list. From the brand notification page, you will have the option to view the notifications or mark as read. Marking a notification as read does not necessarily resolve the request, but simply removes it from your notification list.

Create Brand

Brands can be created by anyone who is a registered user of BuzzyGroups. To ensure that Brands are able to properly maintain their account, we highly recommend using a company e-mail address to create the Brand page. For one, if an issue with Brand page ownership is to occur, we cannot validate the ownership of a brand page without having a company e-mail address. Also, to ensure that every Brand page is a verified business we may need to verify additional information about your company to approve your brand. And if we do, we will be sending all communications via the company e-mail address provided.

For at least the beginning, we will be manually approving each brand request that is made, to ensure the safety and quality of brands that are on BuzzyGroups. So out of respect for others, we kindly ask that you please only petition for one brand at a time, and only petition for a Brand page if your company is a legitimate and licensed businesses. This way your supporters can be confident that they are actually supporting a real business.

Brand Petitions can be found in the top navigation under: Brands > Create Brand. From there, please read the directions carefully, and fill everything in.

Company Name is the name of your business. We recommend thinking about the name of your brand carefully, because the name of your brands are permanent. They also must be unique, which means that no names can be the same. Please make sure to use good taste, and follow our acceptable content guidelines for choosing your brand names. Also, we kindly ask that you refrain from using a company name's that is not your own, otherwise if we discover you are impersonating a company, we will automatically reject your application and may even remove your account.

Industry Type is a way for your potential supporters to find your brand and also helps for categorization purposes. We currently use the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS) for our list of industries. Please choose the industry type that best fits your brands purposes.

Website Address is a way for your supporters to visit your company's website. We always recommend making sure that your website is secure and starts with "https". If you are not sure if your website is secure, we recommend contacting your web development team or hosting provider.

Company Email remains private, unless you choose to add those details into the public description. Your company email is used by BuzzyGroups to contact you about your brand page, or any issues that might arise. Please make sure to use a company e-mail account, because we also use that e-mail to verify ownership of your brand page.

Zip Code is the zip code of your company. If you have more than one location, you can choose to make a brand page with a separate zip code for each location or use the zip code for your headquarters.

Country is the country where your company is located. If your company is located in more than one country, you can choose to make a brand page with a separate country for each location or use the country for your headquarters.

Brand Public Description this is what BuzzyGroups users will see when they are browsing brands or looking at your brand page. This is your place to appeal to potential brand supporters and let them know what your brand is all about.

Brand Image is the image that will be used to attract members and quickly share what your company is about. A picture can be worth a thousand words, so we recommend choosing an image that makes sense for your brand. For instance, a company logo is probably a good idea.

Wait-Times for brand approvals can vary. It mostly depends on how many active petitions we have at a time and how long it takes to verify your information. Please do not submit multiple petitions for the same brand after a petition has been submitted, otherwise we may not know which one to approve and will have to reject both or all applications. We appreciate your patience.

Brand Approvals if your brand is approved you will receive a notification in your dashboard under Brand Notifications. If you were the Brand petitioner, you will automatically be set as the Brand Leader. We recommend petitioning with a user account that is created with company information. The Brand Leader becomes the owner of the Brand page and cannot be changed.

Brands Admin

The Brands Admin page is designed to centralize all of the Brands where you are a Brand Leader or Moderator. If you are not a Brand Leader or Moderator this page will be blank. To go to Brand Admins go to Brands > Brands Admin.

Manage Brands by simply pressing on the "Manage" button for the brand you wish to manage.

Member List are visible only to Brand Leaders and Moderators for the brand(s) they are a Brand Leader or Brand Moderator. The Member List shows all the Members of Brand by Username, First Name, Last Name Initial, Status, etc.

Brand Leaders, at the moment, can only be made Brand Leaders by members of the BuzzyGroups team. The Brand Leader is responsible for all conduct within their brand and has all brand powers, which includes, but is not limited to creating brand posts, updating the Buzzy Banner, updating the Buzzy Promo, blocking users, updating the brand information, and making, as well as, revoking moderators.

Brand Moderators are able to assist the Brand Leader in carrying out Brand duties such as making posts and blocking users. Moderators cannot change the status of Brand Leaders, and they cannot make or remove other Moderators. Moderators can however remove delete Brand posts, as well as, make changes to the Brand description.

Blocked Users appear in the blocked users list after being blocked by a Brand Leader or Moderator. If a Brand Leader or Moderator blocks a user, they will not be notified and will basically be in limbo with your brand. They will only be able to see your brand's Brand Image and Buzzy Banner. If a user was already a supporter and is now blocked, their supporter status in your Brand will automatically be revoked and they will lose privileges to view Brand posts, make comments on posts, and will be moved to the blocked list.

Unblocking Users can be managed from your brands block list. Unblocking a user does not automatically make them a supporter or change their supporter status. However, once a user is unblocked, they are free to request to support your brand, and will at least be allowed to see the posts and comments on your page.

Flagged Brand Posts

Posts can be flagged for a number of reasons, which includes, but is not limited to reasons that a user believes the post contains details that are criminal, discriminatory, offensive, contains pornographic material, nudity, violence, extremist behavior, or something other. Any posts that are flagged within a brand will be reported to the BuzzyGroups team. The details of the flagged post will be listed, as well as, the post that was flagged. The BuzzyGroups team is encouraged to seriously consider posts that are flagged and determine whether or not they believe the post violates the guidelines for BuzzyGroups's acceptable content guidelines.

The BuzzyGroups team reserves the right to also remove posts, flags, or make modifications as deemed necessary by the team. This is done to ensure the safety of our online community, all the while keeping BuzzyGroups a safe place everyone to be.

We appreciate your brand's help in being a part of the BuzzyGroups community and helping us ensure it is a safe place for everyone to be!
